I am from abroad and I want to study at the KIT Faculty for Humanities and Social Scienes (Incoming)
Welcome! We are looking forward to seeing you in Karlsruhe. We have many places available and are eager to welcome you here.
KIT is a top university in Germany ('Exzellenzuniversität'), known for the excellent employability of its graduates. The Faculty for Humanities and Social Sciences offers teaching in the subjects of German (incl. Medieval Studies), Science Communication, Education Studies, Sport, History, and Philosophy.
Karlsruhe is a pretty small town relatively close to Stuttgart, Mannheim, and Frankfurt. It's close to France and Switzerland too, the most prominent cities being Strasbourg and Basel.
How to go about securing your place:
- Contact the KIT International Students Office, all details are here
- Contact the ERASMUS advisors in the KIT Departments, see under 'Ansprechpartner' above. They will assist you in academic matters (choosing courses, provide you with specific information about grades, exams, ECTS credits). The relevant courses of the Humanities are listed on this site: Ilias, but typically the information won't extend far into the future. We have few courses in English, but further courses, especially in English and on topics of general interest, might be on offer by the ZAK. The language centre of KIT is here: SPZ.
- Contact the ERASMUS advisors at your home instituion to sign the Learning Agreement for your term of study at KIT.
